Justice Minister Jerome Kennedy calls St. John’s one of the safest cities in Canada, but that could change as the province continues to prosper. Kennedy outlined details of funding that was announced in the budget for several areas of crime prevention yesterday. A canine unit, a new 7 member drug squad, and an internet crime pedophile unit are in the works along with renovations for Fort Townsend.

Condo Developer Gets Green Light!

A new condo development is on the way for Down Town St. John’s. City Council gave the go ahead for the condos last night. The buildings will be in the area of the former standard manufacturing site and will contain 8 units each.
