The annual SAEN Dinner and Auction will take place on Saturday, April 27th at Pleasantville Legion. All proceeds go to programs for the conservation and protection of salmon and trout and their habitats. Doors open at 6:00 pm followed by a delicious three-course meal at 7:00 pm and then silent and live auctions, raffles and games of chance. The Gower Street United Church Women will also hold a Bake Sale and used Jewelry Sale at this event. Admission is $1.00. All are welcome!

The People of the Sea service will still take place at Memorial United Church in Portugal Cove, NL. We will honor and pay respect to all those who harvest, protect, regulate, study and research this huge natural resource.
     On Sunday, April 28th, 2024 at 2pm the People of the Sea service will welcome Her Honour the Honourable Joan Marie J. Aylward the Lt. Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, His Honour Karl Thompson, harvesters, representatives of all three levels of government, members of the First Nations,  the Coast Guard, The Navy, Port Authorities, MUN, the Marine Institute and many others along with as many of the general public that we can fit in (seating may be limited). Join us in continuing The George Street United Legacy of People of the Sea. A reception will follow.

The artwork:
Will enhance the vibrant, colourful streetscape of Water Street.
Will contribute to the fun, inviting atmosphere of the Downtown Pedestrian Mall for residents and visitors.
Will celebrate the unique characteristics of the City of St. John’s.
