Provincial

-Provincial government offices in the St. John’s metro region will re-open at 1 p.m. today.

- NLC Head Office, Distribution Centre, Rock Spirits and Liquor Stores in St. John’s, Mount Pearl, Paradise and CBS will be  reopening for today, January 5, 2026 at 2:00pm.

-WorkplaceNL’s St. John’s office will re-open for in-person services at 1:00 p.m. today. Staff are available to help, please contact us at 1.800.563.9000 or email info@workplacenl.ca<mailto:info@workplacenl.ca>. MyWorkplaceNL online services are also available.

Municipal

 -The St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses, including the Childcare Centre, are closed for the remainder of the day for all faculty, staff and students.

- Please be advised that City facilities, including City Hall and recreation facilities, will reopen at noon, January 5, 2026.

- Metrobus & GoBus service will be starting today at 1:30 PM.

- The City of St. John’s advises that lane and leisure swims scheduled for 7 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Paul Reynolds Community Centre and H.G.R. Mews Community Centre are cancelled due to expected weather conditions.

Local

- Early Achievers Montessori school will remain closed for the day. 

- Office of Dr. Tracey Brown-Maher Dermatology clinic, Located at 181 Mundy Pond Road will be closed for the day January 5, 2026.   They will reopen Tuesday January 6

- Due to weather Priceless Treasures Daycare in Paradise will be closed for the morning. We will update with the schools at 10:30

- The Carpenter Millwright College will have a delayed opening with an update at 10:30 a.m. 

-Orthodontic Associates on Hebron Way will reopen at 1:00pm today Monday January 5th

- Commonwealth Physiotherapy will be closed for the morning. Update at 11am.

- The offices of Dr. Joseph Coffey and Dr. James Coffey will be closed for the morning with an update at 11.

- Advanced Dental will be closed for the morning with an update regarding this afternoon to be provided by 11:30 a.m.

- Campbell Medical closed for the morning, announcement at noon! 

-Royal Canadian legion branch 1 will remain closed for the Day. 

-Scotiabank branches in the metro St. John’s area will remain closed for the day, Monday January 5th.
