Neighbourhood Connect

The City of St. John's launched Neighbourhood Connect, a new Healthy City initiative designed to bring residents together through inclusive, engaging, and family-friendly events.
To kick off Neighbourhood Connect, the City will host a launch event on Saturday, June 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kelly’s Brook Park. June also marks the ParticipACTION Community Challenge, and this event provides a great opportunity to be active and have fun. 

There are a number of activities included during the event, including:

Giant games & rec equipment – fun for all ages
Try adaptive equipment – inclusive and hands-on
Group exercise session – led by Memorial’s School of Human Kinetics and Recreation
Residents are encouraged to bring a water bottle, wear comfy shoes, and join in a celebration of connection, movement, and community spirit.

37 Service Battalion Training

Be advised that members from 37 Service Battalion will be training throughout St. John’s, NL from approximately 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 14, 2025.
During this time, the public can expect to see military members in combats walking and/or driving around downtown and areas of historical significance including a ruck march around Quidi Vidi Lake. Approximately 30 troops will participate. No weapons or ammunition will be involved in this event.

This is an opportunity for bereaved parents, siblings and grandparents to come together with other bereaved parents, family and friends to remember and celebrate their children gone before them. This 2 hr workshop covers the basic use,and safety considerations of circular saws, jig saws, mitre saws, drills, and sanders.

Our volunteers are going to be going over circular saws, jig saws, miter saws, drills, and sanders. These tools have a wide range of uses, so this workshop can help prepare you for a wide variety of projects.​

This year includes live music from Croc & Doyle Rock, bouncy castle, face painting, kids cornhole, BBQ, a dunk tank, firetrucks for children to tour, etc. All money raised will be donated by the Goulds Lions and Leo Clubs for local community projects
