Jimmy Pratt Memorial Outreach Centre annual Christmas Vegetable Hamper Fundraiser.
Each year, they offer fresh, locally grown Vegetable Hampers to the public in support of our community outreach and meal programs. The hampers are $20.00 each and contain approximately 12 lbs of locally sourced vegetables; including potatoes, carrots, turnip, and cabbage. Red Cross needs volunteers

The Canadian Red Cross is in need of volunteers to support their Emergency Management Program, the Canadian Red Cross assist families that are displaced from their homes in the event of a fire or other disaster.

The Salvation Army and Jiffy Cabs  “Block a Jiffy” campaign is on until December 18— a community initiative aimed at collecting donations to help families in need enjoy a brighter Christmas season.  The campaign encourages the public to drop off new, unwrapped gifts at the Jiffy Cabs office at 322 Pennywell Road, or to contact the office at 709-722-HOHO (4646) for pick-up by a Jiffy Cabs driver.

TIME™ Program

This January, two new and inclusive programs designed for adults will begin at the Summit Centre: The TIME™ Program—a physiotherapist-designed exercise program for those with mobility or balance challenges—and the CARE Day Program, offering arts, swimming, and social activities for adults with physical or cognitive disabilities.
Both programs run for 10 weeks from January to March. Space is limited, register before December 19, 2025!

Sky Parish  and Evan David AuCoin are hosting a Tibb's Eve party!! December 23 at "The Local Public House " on Torbay road.  
Together they have partnered with the "Single Parent Association of Newfoundland and Labrador"  and are hoping anyone coming to the show bring a non-perishable food item. All in efforts to help replenish the food bank at this time of year, as they depend on the generosity of our community!
Non- perishable drop offs can take place at "The Local Public House " so any patrons that are unable to make it to the event can still contribute.  There's also prizes to be won for donating!

150 RCAFA (North Atlantic) Wing will be holding their Lunch with Bridge & Auction afternoons starting on Monday, January 12 and continuing every two weeks. This will be held at Building 565, Roosevelt Avenue, Pleasantville. Lunch is served at 12:30 pm. Enjoy a delicious lunch and then spend the afternoon playing cards with friends. The cost is $23 each.
