–events with a gaming element as a part of the program (ie 50-50 draw at the dinner/dance) and not the sole reason to attend may be accepted.

Memorial United Church in Portugal Cove will be hosting their annual spring Newfie Brunch on Saturday April 18th from 11am-1pm. The menu will consist of beans, bologna, toutons, scrambled eggs, toast, juice, and tea or coffee. Ticket prices are only $15 for adults and $7 for children under 12. There will also be a book sale, bake sale, door prizes and ticket sales.
“Adventures with HypnoGOOB” Will take place at Pleasantville Legion on Sunday April 19th from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tickets are $20 per person and will be available at the door. Immediately following the hypnosis part of the show there will be a Kitchen Party and we encourage you to bring your instruments and take part or if you prefer just come and enjoy.
150 RCAFA (North Atlantic) Wing will be having their Flipper/Roast Beef Dinner on Tuesday, April 28 at Building 565, Roosevelt Ave., Pleasantville. This will be Eat In or Take Out. Cost is $30.00. Take Out orders are to be picked up at 5:00 pm. Eat In’s will be 6:30 for dinner at 7:00 pm. To get your tickets please visit the Wing or to book your tickets, please call Mary at 709 576-2128 and leave a message. Tickets have to be picked up and paid for by Tuesday, April 21.
The Canadian Red Cross is in need of volunteers to support their Emergency Management Program, the Canadian Red Cross assist families that are displaced from their homes in the event of a fire or other disaster. - The annual CVITP (Community Volunteer Tax Program) tax clinics are back!
Volunteers will be on hand to assist with tax returns for those with a modest income and a simple tax return. First come first served.Modest Income: Single $40,000, two person household (single parent or married/common-law couple) with total income below $55,000.

The Carbonear Legion is hosting a roast beef supper fundraiser on behalf of the SSVP Carbonear Foodbank. Suppers are eat-in or takeout, and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets are $17 and can be purchased at the Legion or the food bank. The fundraiser will be held at the Carbonear Legion from 2 pm to 7 pm on April 4th, 2026 (suppers are available from 4 pm to 6 pm) — in addition to the suppers, they have a fantastic lineup of performers.
