After suffering another devastating defeat in our annual Special Olympics vs. the Coast Sub-Par Stars softball game on August 2nd, we are proud to wish the victorious Special Olympic Athletes good luck as they headed off to Medicine Hat, Alberta for the 2026 Summer Games. To the athletes, coaches, and staff, Have a great time!

Look out for Below is more accurate. The Netflix series starring Josh Hartnett will be available to watch starting October 8th and the excitement around this show is monstrous.  It is the latest series to be filmed here in Newfoundland and Labrador (Coast 101.1’s Jeff Lewis worked on the project).  The T.V. and film industry on this Coast has become an incredible economic generator for this province. In 2025, the industry surpassed the $1 billion mark in total production activity since 1997.  Carolyn Moore from Mornings on the Coast has appeared in several productions as an extra.
