The Winter Activity Centre in the North Bank Lodge at Pippy Park is scheduled to open on January 10. For up-to-date schedules and hours of operation call the Winter Activity Centre Snowline at 709-737-3651.  

Pippy Park is transformed into an area suitable for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skate skiing. Trails are free to use and may be lit for evening use. Trail maps can be viewed on the Winter Activity Centre webpage and at North Bank Lodge. 

Cross Country Ski and Snowshoe Rentals - Equipment is available to rent for all ages including cross-country skis, boots, snowshoes and poles. Payment is accepted by debit or credit only. Users must fill out a waiver in person or in advance online. 

Rental hours of operation: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Equipment rental prices: Individual person - $5 per hour; Family of three people - $10 per hour; Family of four to six people - $15 per hour

Drop-in ski lessons available - Learn the basics of classic cross-country skiing in a group lesson at the Winter Activity Centre. Lessons are first-come, first-served and weather dependent.
