Provincial

• Due to forecasted weather, Provincial Government offices in the St. John’s metro region will close at 12:00 p.m. today (Friday, February 21) for the remainder of the day, except for those employees who have otherwise been advised by their departments to report to work.
• Due to the impending weather, The Rooms have decided to reschedule the public opening reception scheduled for Friday, February 21. The new date will be next Friday, February 28, at 7 p.m.  The Rooms is now closed and will remain closed for the rest of today, Friday, February 21. Stay safe!
• The Carpenter Millwright College will be closing at 1:00 p.m. today, February 21, 2025 due to weather.
• Due to adverse weather conditions, classes and other scheduled activities at Memorial’s St. John’s, Marine Institute and Signal Hill campuses are cancelled for this afternoon and evening, as of 1 p.m. The Childcare Centre will also close as of 1 p.m. All classes and activities on campus that start at 1 p.m. are cancelled. All evening exams administered by CITL will be rescheduled. Students and instructors can access remote and online courses via Brightspace, and unless individual instructors advise their students otherwise, all asynchronously-delivered remote courses and online course activities and deliverables will continue as scheduled. For all other scheduled evaluations, please check with your course instructor. Employees should consult with their supervisors/department heads before departing to ensure an orderly closure process.

Municipal

• Please be advised that City facilities, including City Hall and recreation facilities, will be closed at 2 p.m. for the remainder of the day on Friday, February 21 due to weather. The Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will remain open during regular business hours.
• Due to weather conditions, Metrobus & GoBus service will terminating today at 3:00p this afternoon.

Local

• Royal Canadian Legion Branch 1 Will be closed today February 21st 2025 due to weather.
• Please be advised that given the current weather conditions, NLC Head Office, Distribution Centre, Rock Spirits and Liquor Stores in St. John’s, Mount Pearl, Paradise and CBS will closing at 2:00pm for the remainder of the day.
