To mark the 25th anniversary of September 11th, 2001, St. John’s International Airport (SJIA) is hosting a ceremony to remember the lives lost and reflect on the profound impact of that day.
The ceremony will also recognize the important role that the YYT community played in the immediate aftermath, when the Airport accommodated diverted aircraft and their passengers and became part of an extraordinary and emotional response.
Several uniformed emergency responders will be in attendance. Remarks will be delivered by Dennis Hogan, Chief Executive Officer, SJIA; His Worship Danny Breen, Mayor of the City of St. John’s; and the Honourable Joedy Wall, Minister of Health and
Community Services, Minister of Mental Health and Addictions, Minister Responsible for Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, and MHA for Cape St. Francis.
