The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada, St. John’s Centre and MUN’s Johnson Geo Centre have teamed up to offer the public Astronomy Day, on May 23rd at the Johnson Geo Centre on Signal Hill.
The public is invited to visit the Geo Centre on Signal Hill this Saturday May 23rd from 1pm to 4pm, and 9pm to 11pm.
Indoors, the Centre RASC members are featuring astronomy displays, telescope displays and expert advice on the latest or legacy telescopes and techniques for their use in observing or photographing the wonders in our sky.
Outdoors, viewing of the disk of our Sun with specialized telescopes from 1pm to 4pm, and viewing of the Moon and Jupiter, stars and nebula from 9pm to 11pm.
There is a “rain date” for the “outdoor” viewing activities on Sunday May 24th from 9pm to 11pm.
